Dangerous overnight temperatures expected this weekend

Overnight lows will drop into the teens this weekend

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Air temperatures will be dropping well below normal Saturday night into Sunday morning, potentially putting some in danger. Overnight lows will drop into the teens by sunrise Sunday, creating hazards for those with poor insulation or exposed pipes. Animals need to be taken care of as this type of chill can be extremely dangerous to our outdoor pets. Highs on both Saturday and Sunday will stay well below normal, maxing out in the upper 30s both days. Even a 10 mph breeze can lead to a 3-5° “feels like” temperature drop, so be sure to bundle up if you are heading outside this weekend.

Frigid and potentially dangerous air temperatures will be present across the East late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
