NORTH TOPSAIL BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – Crews responded to a house fire in North Topsail Beach Saturday morning, March 23, according to the Town of Surf City and North Topsail Beach fire departments.

Firefighters responded to the 1100 block of New River Inlet Road.

“The guys on shift have been busy lately. With two different structure fires, one in Holly Ridge and the other one in North Topsail,” the Town of Surf City Fire Department states on Facebook. “Not only do we cover our community, but we often get called out for automatic aid. (Which means we are dispatched automatically by contractual agreement between two communities or fire districts to all structural fires). A total team effort between fire departments to keep our communities safe.”

In response to the Surf City FD post, the North Topsail Beach Fire Department responded, saying:

“I want to also personally thank you for coming and helping us out Saturday morning…2:30am, 25mph winds, and in a torrential downpour…miserable conditions and your guys carried themselves with great professionalism and efficiency in their work! Thank you again!”

No one was injured in the fire, and the cause is still under investigation.
