Craven County Schools approves $4.4 million lease with Apple

NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – Craven County Schools has approved a new 4-year lease with Apple for new devices for students in grades 6-12 and all staff in grades k-12.

According to Craven County School officials, the new lease will provide 8,080 iPads with cases, keyboards, and trackpads. The lease also includes 808 WIFI iPads with cases, 1000 Logitech Crayons for the iPad, 32 3-day sessions of professional learning, and Apple Care for the devices.

Officials say the cost for the new lease came in at $4,422,194.18.

Officials say that using iPads can help students by providing access to information, offering interactive learning experiences, promoting collaboration, improving organization and productivity, enabling personalized learning, fostering creativity, and supporting students with diverse needs.

According to officials, all teachers will now have access to an iPad.
