Craven County man behind bars for child sex crimes

NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – A Craven County man is behind bars after being charged with multiple child sex crimes.

21-year-old Antonio White of Vanceboro was arrested on May 21st on charges of indecent liberties with a child, statutory rape of a child, and statutory sexual offense with a child.

According to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report of sexual assault on March 9th. During an investigation, deputies found that White was involved with two juveniles in New Bern.

White was arrested on May 21st by Craven County detectives and was transported on May 28th to the Pitt County Detention Center.

White was given a $250,000 bond for the Craven County charges and $250,000 for the Pitt County charges for a total secured bond of $500,000.

He was transferred back to Craven County where he remains in custody.
