Craven County hosting free Narcan training for community

CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – An Eastern Carolina county is working to educate the public on how to properly respond to an opioid overdose through a free Narcan training session.

The Craven County Opioid Epidemic Response partnered with the Craven County Health Department and the Harlowe Volunteer Fire Department to host the free session.

The event aims to equip individuals with the knowledge to recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose and the skills needed to administer this potentially life-saving medication.

The session requires no registration; participants will receive a free two-dose Narcan Naloxone nasal spray kit after completing the training.

The Narcan training session will be held at Harlowe Volunteer Fire Department from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
