PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A state corrections officer is accused of bringing drugs into an Eastern Carolina prison.
Greene County deputies say they were contacted by prison officials at Maury Correctional Institution about drugs being found on an employee.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
Deputies say K2 was found on Destiny Griggs, of Stokes. K2, also known as Spice, is a synthetic marijuana designer drug.
The corrections officer was charged with possession of a controlled substance on prison premises and was given a $5,000 bond.
