COROLLA, N.C. (WITN) – The Corolla Wild Horse Fund announced the official debut of Eowyn, their newest filly.

Eowyn was first seen about two weeks ago and was just confirmed to be a filly on Monday. Her mother’s name is Arwen and the father is believed to be named Rohan. According to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, Eowyn’s name is derived from a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. Eowyn can also be translated to “joy from horses” in Old English.
