Bush’s speedboat built in Washington up for auction today

HOUSTON, TEXAS (WITN) – If you want to own a piece of history that was built right here in Eastern Carolina here is your chance.

Former President George H.W. Bush’s speedboat will be up for auction on Thursday.

The Fountain 38CC was built in Washington and delivered to the former president in 2010.

The “Fidelity V” was Bush’s fifth and last speedboat. The nearly 1,000 horsepower boat is a 38-footer with three Mercury outboard engines.

Bush bought several boats from Reggie Fountain over the years.

This boat will be part of the 2024 Presidential Salute auction in Houston.

Proceeds will go to expand offerings at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum and The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
