Boil water advisory in Pamlico County

PAMLICO COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A boil water advisory has been issued in parts of Pamlico County.

A waterline break caused low pressure and water outages and contractors are now working to fix that leak.

The boil water advisory is for those who live between 13225 Highway 55 to 13605 Highway 55 in Alliance. This includes Virginia Road, Connect Lane, and other adjacent roads.

The county says because of the leak, bacteria could get into the water system. That’s why residents should boil all water for human consumption, including drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, and washing hands or using bottled water.

The advisory will remain in effect until tests come back to show there is no contamination in the water.
