BIG ROCK: Going into day 5, no blue marlins boated on day 3 or 4

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WITN) – Day five of the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament creating anticipation after no blue marlins were brought in over the last two days of competition.

At least one boat is out this morning. ‘Memories’ hooked up at 9:08 a.m., according to the Big Rock live updates.

Thursday, 56 boats were out and 246 stayed put at Morehead City. Boats can only fish for four of the six days in the tournament.

The National Weather Service has boaters facing 3 to 5-foot waves and winds blowing from the North East at 5 to 15 mph, along with the chance of showers and isolated storms today.

It was the second day in a row that no marlins were caught while standings haven’t changed since Monday.

‘Game Time’ remains at the top of the leaderboard with a 516-pound catch on Monday. If their lead holds until Saturday they will take home more than $1.8 million.

In second place is ‘Release’ with their 504-pound catch, also on Monday. That catch, being the first over 500 pounds, won over $1.7 million in the Fabulous Fisherman category.

This is the 66th year for Big Rock, which lasts until Saturday.
