BIG ROCK DAY 2: ‘Builder’s Choice’ brings in 431.8-pound blue, ‘Maggie’ with 414.2-pound fish

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WITN) – Two blue marlins were brought in on the second day of the Big Rock Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament.

‘Builder’s Choice’ weighed in around 3:20 p.m. with a 431.8-pound big blue. That puts them in third place on the leaderboard.

Right now ‘Builder’s Choice’ catch is in first place in the Super 20 Level VI category which could land the boat $1.4 million in prize money.

Another boat, ‘Maggie’, weighed-in just before 5:00 p.m. with a 414.2-pound catch

There were 271 of the 302 boats fishing off the coast today.

On Monday, the first blue marlin of the tournament was hooked by the boat ‘Release’ at 10:24 am. ‘Release’ arrived at Big Rock Landing around 2:45 p.m., with the marlin weighing in at 504 pounds.

This catch, being over 500 pounds, won over $1.7 million in the Fabulous Fisherman category.

Around 2:25 p.m., ‘Game Time’ also boated a marlin, arriving at Big Rock Landing around 4:20 p.m.

The marlin weighed in at a staggering 516 pounds, taking first place for the day and if their lead holds until Saturday they will take home more than $1.8 million.

This is the 66th annual tournament, which lasts until Saturday.
