BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Friday, a portion of Douglas Crossroads intersection is closing for the installation of waterlines.

Part of the weekend construction starting today will be for the new roundabout.

The eastern portion of U.S. 264 will be closed between 8 p.m. tonight and 6 a.m. Monday, June 3rd.

Crews will install a large waterline and three drainage pipes during the closure.

Traffic on U.S. 264 traveling to and from Bath and Yeatesville will be detoured onto Braddy Road.

Barricades, signs, and message boards will be in place to help traffic.
