Authorities looking for convicted felon & local drug trafficker

The Halifax County Sheriff‘s Office and the Roanoke Rapids Police Department say they are looking for convicted felon Alston Parker.

HALIFAX COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Law enforcement agencies from one Eastern Carolina county say they are looking for a wanted local drug trafficker after two search warrants yielded large amounts of cash and drugs.

The Halifax County Sheriff‘s Office and the Roanoke Rapids Police Department say they are looking for convicted felon Alston Parker.

The 38-year-old from Roanoke Rapids is wanted after two search warrants were issued March 5th.

Authorities say around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office Regional Drug and Gang Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on Zoo Road in South Roanoke Rapids.

The search led to the seizure of about 770 grams of cocaine, roughly 3.5 pounds of marijuana, 147 Oxycodone pills, a firearm, and $12,999 in cash, according to officials.

A second search warrant was conducted about forty minutes later around 5 a.m. on New Hope Street. Inside, investigators say they found $11,851 in cash stemming from illegal drug sales, and a 2007 Lexus GS350 registered to Parker.

Officials say before this investigation, Parker had already served eight years in federal prison, and now he is wanted on nine charges.

  • Felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance

Authorities say they strongly recommend Mr. Parker surrender himself to law enforcement.

This investigation is ongoing with the potential for more charges forthcoming against co-conspirators.
