Arrest made in shooting that killed Greenville woman, injured another

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Police say they have made an arrest in a shooting that killed one Greenville woman and injured another.

Jarriel Crandle was arrested late this morning at the Knights Inn on South Memorial Drive.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment in the 2100 block of Montclair Drive. Inside the apartment, police found two women with gunshot wounds.

Tammy Greene, 55, died at the scene while Karla White, 34, was taken to ECU Health Medical Center where she is expected to survive.

Police say the 39-year-old Crandle knew the women, though a motive is still being investigated.

Greenville police originally listed the victim’s name as Tammy Greene Cotton, but on Thursday they said her name was Tammy Greene.
