SWANSBORO, N.C. (WITN) – Residents traveling around Swansboro will have to detour as several streets will be closed because pirates are invading the Onslow County town.

The 2024 PirateFest is this Saturday.

The town says the following streets will be closed to traffic starting at 3:00 a.m.:

• Front Street from Main Street to Church Street
• Church Street from Front Street to Water Street
• Water Street from Main Street to Church Street
• Main Street will be closed at Water Street for eastbound traffic

The festival will have everything from sword fights to treasure hunts and sing-alongs with pirates on Saturday.
