Another section of Dickinson Avenue in Greenville closing

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Another section of a busy Greenville street will shut down next week.

The Department of Transportation says the section of Dickinson Avenue, between Skinner Street and the railroad overpass will close on Monday.

The section will be closed to all traffic for about three months as crews put in new waterlines, sidewalks, and then repave the street.

The work is part of a much-delayed upgrade on the street that got back into gear earlier this month after being stalled for nearly a year thanks to a contractor abandoning the project.

The DOT says businesses along the section will still be open and drivers can avoid the work zone by taking Memorial Drive, 10th Street, and Evans Street.
