WITN covered cleanup following a collapse in May.

Officials say people should avoid the beaches and stay out of the water and all areas of the beaches and surf in Rodanthe.

Public entry from the northern boundary of Rodanthe up to the northern end of the Jug Handle Bridge is closed.

Officials add that dangerous debris may be on the beach and in the water for more than a dozen miles.

Cape Hatteras National Seashore is in touch with the property owner. It does not expect significant debris removal efforts to happen until after the elevated sea conditions subside early next week.

Other houses are being threatened as beach erosion continues over the next few years.
