WINTERVILLE, N.C. (WITN) -A busy Pitt County intersection will be transformed into an all-way stop.

This week crews will start working on pavement markings and stop signs at the intersection of Old Tar Road and Vernon White Road.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation says the all-way stop should improve safety at the Winterville intersection.

The DOT reminds drivers to use caution as this traffic pattern change takes effect.
