911 call reveals new info on Onslow Co. fire that injured young family

An Onslow man is facing three attempted murder charges.

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A 911 call released to WITN provides some more information on a fire that injured three people earlier this month in Onslow County.

Duane Brower is charged with three counts of attempted murder.

Deputies say the 60-year-old man is accused of setting fire to his roommate’s home on Chadwick Shores Drive outside of Sneads Ferry on March 12th.

WITN requested the 911 call a week ago. It was released to us late yesterday afternoon.

The caller told 911 that everyone made it out of the home except for a small dog.

The victims have been identified as Erick Nafa, Ashlee Wilson, and Vienna Nafa. An arrest warrant said Erick Nafa suffered second-degree burns.

A GoFundMe account set up by Wilson’s mother says Brower threw an accelerant on the bed that her daughter and Nafa were sleeping in and then set them on fire. The page says Vienna is the couple’s baby who is not even three months old.

County records show that Erick Nafa and Andrew Brower own the home. Family members say ,Duane Brower is Andew Brower’s father.

Brower remains in jail on a $750,000 bond.

Duane Brower appeared before a District Court judge.
