$1 billion Powerball jackpot drawing last night

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) -The Powerball jackpot that was just drawn was $1 billion which is the fifth-largest jackpot in Powerball history. Now the wait begins to see if anyone won.

The billion-dollar prize had plenty of people taking a chance.

Powerball is played in 45 states and the manager on duty at Mills Market in Pitt County, Paul Bonham, said because of the increase of the prize money he has seen an increase in customers….

“We have had quite an influx of customers or whatever just trying to get the big win I guess,” says Bonham.

ECU student Matthew Donalds bought a ticket and said what he would do if he won the big money.

“I would get myself a nice vehicle and I would probably retire my parents, they can run off do what they want with their money. The rest of mine I would probably buy a nice little house on a lake maybe because that’s a lot of money even after taxes that still a lot of money” says Donald.

This is the first time Donald has purchased a Powerball ticket and says it’s a chance worth taking…

“I mean it’s only two bucks for a billion so your odds, you may as well,” says Donalds.

Now, the big question is, was there a winner or will the jackpot keep getting bigger?

If there was no winner, the next drawing with an even bigger payout would be on Wednesday night.
