By spending the holidays in a calm home, dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens experience less stress, more comfort, and a greater chance to shine outside the shelter environment.

This season is all about giving, and residents are invited  to open their homes and offer an animal a peaceful place to spend the holidays. Fostering even for a few days helps make a meaningful difference for both the pet and the shelter team by reducing overall kennel stress during peak intake periods.

Pitt County Animal Services supplies everything needed for a successful foster experience at no cost. 

• Food, bowls, toys, and blankets are included. 
• Foster dogs and puppies come with a leash and crate.
• Foster cats and kittens include a collar and carrier.
