Beach, Boogie and Blues welcomes Chairmen of the Board to Carteret Community Theatre’s Big Rock Arts Center, 1311 Arendell Street in the heart of downtown Morehead City on Friday, July 17. Doors at 7pm, showtime 8pm. The venue is newly renovated with the best sound and light system in ENC!
With a career spanning over 50 years, Chairmen of the Board remains one of soul music’s most enduring and beloved acts. Originally formed in Detroit as the flagship group for Holland-Dozier-Holland’s Invictus label, the group defined the “Beach Music” sound and delivered some of the 1970s’ most iconic R&B hits. Today, the legacy is carried forward by Ken Knox, a 49-year veteran of the group who was hand-picked by founding front-man General Johnson to lead the ensemble into the future.
